Hi, I’m Jyoti — a physiotherapist from India, now living in Canada for the past three years.
Like many immigrants, I came here with big dreams — to build a better life for my family and give my little one the future he deserves. But reality hit hard when I couldn’t find a job in my own field. I started working as a physiotherapy aide, earning around $17/hour, just trying to make ends meet.
Leaving my 2½-year-old toddler at daycare every day broke my heart. I wanted to be there for his milestones, his giggles, his growing moments — not miss them while working long hours for a paycheck that barely covered the bills.
